Weaves, Wigs and Artificial Hair. Does This Mean We Hate Our Natural Hair?

Natural hair is versatile with different hairstyles to choose from, however there comes a time whereby we will need to use artificial hair, weaves and wigs for several reasons one being protective styling. So, believing that all women who wear artificial hair hate their natural hair would be a cliché.



Weaves are an artificial or natural hair extension that’s fixed into human hair by sewing, gluing or clipping. Reasons women wear weaves has nothing to do with insecurity, it’s definitely because it’s easy to manage, they want to give their natural hair a break and allow it to grow and It could be that they want to try a new and better color, length and texture.. Women also wear weaves in order not to commit to a style.


There is this perception that natural hair is unkempt hair which is utterly ridiculous. Natural hair is beautiful and can look neat just as 'artificial hair'. Women of different taste have different preferences, some prefer to have their natural looks all the time and keep it simple. However, some prefer to make an exception and add a little bit of glamour to simply experiment a new look with their natural self. Women wear weaves to enhance beauty that already exists and not change their complete look, it’s simply a transformation.


A wig which is a head or hair accessory made from human hair, animal hair, or synthetic fiber and are used by numerous women around the world for a variety of reasons and benefits in their daily lives.


Natural hair concerns can be hidden with wigs.


They are excellent for hiding both major and minor hair problems that women frequently face. They can be used to conceal both a receding hairline and more extensive hair loss. Hair loss can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor nutrition, unhealthy hair habits, and even illnesses like cancer. As a result, wigs are frequently used to assist women with such illnesses feel more confident about their looks. Wigs are convenient, they can reduce the problems of flawed hair and save a lot of time for women who spend over an hour in front of the mirror styling their hair. Wigs don’t necessitate long-term commitment, some women enjoy experimenting with different types of looks, so wigs allow them the versatility of changing their appearance at will, Wigs give them options.

In addition Regular usage of wigs can help you save a lot of money. Women can wear a wig in the style of their choice instead of going to the salon many times a month for hairstyling. They can then go back to that look without having to pay for it again months later. The key is to look after the wig properly so that it lasts long.


Let's face it, our hair might bother us at times and not behave the way we want it to.

A woman might opt to wear a wig of her choice rather than spending time figuring out how to make it appear properly. This is a great alternative for those who don't have the time or patience to deal with their hair on a daily basis. The majority of wigs on the market are already styled and ready to wear. Simply slide a comb, fingers, or a brush through the wig and one can be out of the door.



Regardless of what the reasons are, it’s their hair and they can do as they please with it. women can have their hair in different ways. They do have options, they can treat their nails the same way the wear their hair, that does not change who they are. you can’t actually conclude that women lack pride in their natural hair because they wear weaves, wigs and artificial hair, come on!
